If it was because we couldn't prove the negative

This is why you continue to miss the point. It wasn't up to us to prove anything. The burden of proof was on Hussein, and he failed to deliver. Year after year, and conflict after conflict. How many chances did you guys want to give him? 50?

He made it clear that he would not cooperate (just allowing inspectors in the country is the bare minimum of cooperation). In addition, he actively tried to make everyone believe he still had the WMD.

Ted likes to say his machismo made him do it, but I don't give a flip what made him do it. He's still the idiot that did it, and the US, UK and others called his bluff.

As you say, you can't prove the negative, therefore there is some measure of trust involved. Hussein did everything possible to undermine that trust, and dragged his feet at every step.

Having any question of the presence of WMD was unacceptable from a security standpoint, and Bush did his duty.

It was time to take action, and I'm proud that we did. I'm not willing to bet lives on trusting Hussein like Ted is.
