Matt- again these guys don't get it....fabs expand and buy
equipment when profits are good and they have funds to
invest in their future growth. They know that the industry
is cyclical and they plan their buying and growth strategies accordingly.... When money is available they
upgrade to be competitive and try to make as much as
possible. If they don't they become non-competitive very
quickly and fall to far behind and become obsolete.
Innovation, manufacturing capability, and sales is the
life blood of a fab.
There have been many articles posted by Brian, et al,
about fabs increasing their equipment purchase budgets
this year. Most of the analysts have wrong as usual. BB
