David, you might do well remaining long in ASND - read this (ASND's answer to an inquiry from a user wanting to use a GRF for "low speed" services such as T-1; I should be so lucky as to have such a "slow" means of accessing the Internet!):

"The GRF is mainly a backbone router. Thus there was no need for low speed interfaces. However, folks have always been able to use a HSSI to V.35 converter should they need to ***slow down to T1*** or E1. (Dee Jay's emphasis)

That said, the GRF has proved so popular that there is now significant
demand for a T1/E1 card. So we plan to build one."

(clip from the Ascend Users Forum)

Now this user is running a corporate network, I think, so seeing the GRF migrate down to such a usage could mean huge and unexpected volume increases for ASND tapping into a Cisco-dominated market. (His idea of slow - T-1 = 8 Mbps)
