Arris Targets Government Sales DULUTH, Ga. -- ARRIS (NASDAQ: ARRS - message board) announced today that Bruce Downs has been named as Vice President of Government Sector Sales and Marketing. In this new role, he will be responsible for introducing innovative ARRIS broadband solutions into the Government sector through strategic partnering, contract expansion, and direct sales. Bruce will report to Ron Coppock, President, ARRIS Worldwide Sales. In his 10 years with ARRIS, Bruce has served in senior roles in Customer Service, Product Management, Operations Management, Strategic Project Management and Supply-Chain Management. In announcing the appointment, Coppock said: “With over 19 years of military telecommunications experience and over 10 years in the commercial broadband industry, Bruce is uniquely qualified to help our Government customers apply ARRIS ‘off-the-shelf’ technology to the communications challenges they are facing in both Defense and Homeland Security.” Existing ARRIS products and technology have already enabled cable companies to provide telephony and high-speed data services to 4 million subscribers via Hybrid Fiber-Coax (HFC) networks.
