Tom any "professional" person could recognize satire when they see it. Especially in the context and if they took one minute to click on a few surrounding posts if they had any doubts on the first one. Of course assuming they are professional is dodgy.
The USA is notable for being an uptight place, lacking a sense of irony.
Look at the mass hysteria and excitement over the upper bulge of Janet's right tit. Which is hilarious given what goes on in the view of children all day every day and the far more revealing designer clothes women wear to the Oscars etc. Omigod, the Grammy's on CNN just showed women wearing very skimpy clothing. The USA will be a drooling horde.
If the counter-intelligence people take that seriously, they are not serious people. If they are as foolish as you suggest, it's no wonder they let real, actual, murderous terrorists pull off the phenomenal attack on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, despite plenty of warnings about hijacking aircraft over the years for destruction missions. They should be fired for dereliction of duty and incompetence.
If you are serious, maybe I really should assume Americans are mad and to avoid visiting the place [as millions of people around the world are now doing, which must be putting a hole in a few tourism businesses].

PS: If you want fake bomb scares, how about the infamous 45 minute ready-to-go WMDs with fake noocular bomb material imported from Niger, which has led to 500 [and more] American soldiers being killed in Iraq. That led to real, actual, dead and maimed people by the thousands. I suspect that some of those people and their families will be feeling that they were sent to war on false pretences. Have there been class action lawsuits started against those responsible? Is anyone talking impeachment yet? They got after Bill Clinton for fibbing about his adultery and generally libidinous behaviour, which didn't kill anyone [and what do people expect]. |
