I guess that except for my house, furnishings, some art work, and a modest amount of physical gold, everything I own is paper of some sort, including the "entitlement" of Social Security and a state government pension. If FDR could expropriate 40% of the wealth of everyone holding US Dollars in one day, and get away with it, all sorts of things can happen. Politics trump economics. Power controls wealth and not the other way around. Best-laid plans of mice and men, etc.
