Cutting and running? There has to be a transition one way or another. Would you rather have the Sunni's and Al Qaeda attacking us or their brothers? If the Iraqi's want freedom they will have to earn it just like we did. The members of former repressive regime are in the minority along with Al Qaeda. They dont want freedom and the clearly fear being on the retribution end of a Shi'ite majority in power.

We do have to make sure as part of the liberation we have enabled the former oppressed to be enabled to succeed. Clearly they want to succeed and are willing to pay the price.

We wont cut and run from Iraq. All this talk about WMD, which was only half the reason for entering Iraq. Only in the USA can we have a population who uses more fuel per person than any other country can we all ignore the oil side of the liberation. Using SUV's to drive to the supermarket as well as pull out boats and gas consuming toys. Parking these vehicles in our 5,000 sq ft homes with high ceilings.

The rest of the world knows oil was a big factor with liberating Iraq, very few in the USA even want to acknowledge it.
