I like to read Mauldin, but here's another example of old playbook thinking. They are navigating icebergs while the radar indicates a hurricane is bearing down on them. These guys have little or no comprehension of the enormous global resource shortages, input goods cost pressure, and crack-up boom speculation that is erupting as a result of US generated credit excess demand/maladjustments. I doubt if they have EVER even looked at an LME inventory report, or ocean freight index. Personally I doubt if they've even looked at a three month price change in steel, lumber, copper, and industrial chemicals, let alone soybeans.
