I'm not a pilot, but I do know that piloting a plane in midair, even a fighter jet, is a very different case from making a carrier landing, an exercise with no room for error, and one that Bush, to my knowledge, was never trained for.

Kind of like the difference between letting your ten year-old son take the wheel of the car in the middle of an empty parking lot, or while parallel parking in a tight spot. On a busy street.
