I don't know, this is just what I heard from the pundits, that Edwards has this issue. The "trial lawyer lobby" certainly is a big campaign contributor but its hard to see how this one group could overcome the amt of money that could come in from business.

For example the costco executives have already contributed to MoveOn. Most big corporate donors who want Bush out are waiting for the nominee to be named. Costco might not contribute as much with a trial lawyer on the ticket, I don't know. Personally I think Bush has done so much damage that money won't be a problem for Kerry no matter who is his running mate.

I like Edwards, but I really do think that most citizens realize we have a large problem with an overly litigious society. And all these securities class action suits are way over the top, except for a few like enron and wcom where there REALLY WAS fraud.
