Politicians on both sides have no shame when it comes to getting employment for their children. It happens at the local level as well.

If Michael received this appointment pre-2000, it was probably a little arm twisting to get Colin Powell to say yes to Secy of State position. If the job suddenly appeared around the time Colin Powell was at odds with Cheney/Rumsfeld re sending military to Iraq, hopefully a job for sonny boy did not make the difference.
