Having had a fairly extensive career in selling technology solutions to government I can tell you I've seen more waste - without digging very deep.

Economies are not spurred on to growth by sending money to the federal government.

I do give the Liberals a lot of credit for getting Canada's finances under control

As for that, you give them too much credit. Fiscal restraint came into vogue world wide. We would have been... were in fact heading that way, pariahs in the world credit markets. There was no alternative.

That, and an economy that grew with no help from the federal government, is the real reason for budget surpluses.

Which they then waste...
