Well, I read a few mos ago that the 5 most contested states included NV,MO,MI,OH and one other (can't recall). MoveOn ran an ad in each of these markets prior to the primaries. So at least then, NV was considered a key state and winnable for dems.

Since that time I believe Bush has become much more vulnerable, some states like MI seems like the dems have already won, and the sense that Bush wins a landslide in the south has weakened a little. Back then, the republicans thought they would have another 99 style booming economy on their hands. NV was always in play because Bush's environmental record is so bad. NV, AZ, NM are going to be tough for Bush on environmental issues alone, forgetting all the other massive screwups.
