What some CT towns started doing (including mine) is to give the developer's a few perks (like drop minimum lot size)and then in return they ask then to set aside a few acres that is called something like open space or what ever. All it boils down to is a small piece of land that maybe the kids can play on or something.So if a person developer's say a 100 acre piece he may have to lose two acres of it but he gets more lots anyway due to the town dropping the lot size requirement. Way to little to late for this area of the state but you know how that goes.

Just a rough idea what property taxes are in this town but they vary town to town...I have 3/4 acres of property. Have a 2250 square foot 3 bedroom new house with no inground pools or other buildings on the land. Taxes on that ran me about $5095 this past year and they will certainly be going up next year.
