I didn't think you were insulting Jersey/NYC people, sorry if you took my post the wrong way. I was just saying that people in this region are tough and will defend their interests. When some wealthy developer from Conneticut comes down and wants to bring in non-union workers to drive down wages, of course people are going to react negatively to such a move. Is it really such a surprise that working people might act in their own interests? Wealthy elites act in their own interests all the time, I don't know why they're so taken aback when working people get smart enough to do the same.

I'm glad to hear that you worked all your life as a plumber. I've worked in all sorts of professions in my life, a plumber was never one of them.

Vote for who you wish to vote for in the fall. It's a free country. Not that it will make much of a difference anyway. You can vote for the Republican Party or the Republican-lite Party (aka the Democratic Party). Both parties essentially represent the interests of the wealthy elites who run this country. The Republicans are a lot more blantant about it and are very agressive in their defense of capital and its interests. The Republican-lite Party (aka Democratic Party) is a bit more socially concious, they're interested in a more egalitarian America and support things like unions (to some extent), minimum wage, worker safety, environmental protection, etc. But, when push comes to shove the Republican-lite Party (aka the Democratic Party) also represents the interests of capital, as we saw with them supporting some of Clintons imperialistic wars and their support for the PATRIOT ACT and the latest attack against Iraq (not demanding a declaration of war as the Constitution demands). Republican and Republican-lite (aka Democract) two wings of the same corporate/elitist/capital-uber-alles bird.
