That patient was in no physical or mental condition to claim bankruptcy or anything else. He was barely coherent and obviously penniless, and I was glad to see him evicted from the room, because he wasn't helping my father's condition one bit--and my father has all the paid-up insurance and long-running record of employment he needs to get the best care one can buy.
