Yes they do just like people care about Kerry's votes in the Senate 19 years ago, about his Jane Fonda association etc.

If a Commander in Chief himself was not that serious about his service in the ANG, then could he be ordering other ANG and military folks to war in Iraq. What if the troops do not want to go. Is he going to give then a 'honorable discharge" and let them off. That is the question people are asking, "Mr President how could you enforce something that you yourself did not want enforced on you." HAd he not joined the ANG and done a Clinton, then his case would be stronger. But to enroll and not do do what he is required to do is a question people will ask especially the relatives of those who are being sent to Iraq.

The relatives are people too.
