Being paranoid now days is to your credit, however I noticed no Anti-Virus software in your list, I use AVG, serves me well, but am diligent with updates and scans if new viruses are reported.
What you use for backups or use any disk imaging? The Norton Ghost saved me loads of time from reinstalling OS's.
Don't you find looking after grand kids very rewarding, I have done it with three, tell you, the ties you establish with them, stays with them for the rest of their lives.
