Ted Re...[On Aug. 5, 1980, as tensions mounted on the Iran-Iraq border, Saudi rulers welcomed Saddam to Riyadh for the first state visit ever by an Iraqi president to Saudi Arabia. During meetings at the kingdom’s ornate palaces, the Saudis feted Saddam whose formidable Soviet-supplied army was viewed as a bulwark against Iran.
That is exactly what I have been trying to tell Ted. That the US helped Saddam keep Iran at bay to keep SA and Kuwait safe from the Ayatollah. Ted still hasn't admitted it yet, so I guess I need to work on him some more.
The claim of Carter’s “green light” for the invasion was made by senior Arab leaders, including King Fahd of Saudi Arabia, to President Reagan’s first secretary of state, Alexander Haig, when Haig traveled to the Middle East in April 1981, according to “top secret” talking points that Haig prepared for a post-trip briefing of Reagan.]
LOL. Thats a good one. Now we find out that Carter also helped Saddam start the Iran Iraq war, in addition to carter starting the help for OBL, and the other freedom fighters/terrorists in Afghanistan. All Reagon could do was reluctantly continue Carter's wars. Just why was Carter given the Noble peace prize, as he seems to have started more wars, than either Reagon or Bush. I guess, when you are a democrat, one can start all kinds of wars, and Ted loves it. But just let a Republican defeat someone who is a threat to us, then Ted goes ballistic. |
