The "context" of the affair is of course important!

Good grief!

Most affairs between older, powerful males and younger women, such as the ever-present interns in political situations, are a reflection of the man's power over the younger woman, and its improper use to obtain sexual favors.

Typically, the male has a high position, can exert his influence in her favor, and promises to do so. Monica's Revlon job comes to mind.

In these May/December sleazoramas, it's not about a man feeling an attraction because he is not "understood" at home, and the rest of that claptrap, it's about a man using his power and position to obtain sex. Period. Full stop.

It's often about power and its exercise.

I know, I defend lawsuits dealing with that kind of stuff. See it all the time.
