You ignore the possibility Iraq will emerge as a powerful semi-democratic country and destablize those non-democratic governments that need reform and help to put an end to ME terrorism.

Its telling that you reference Iraq as a potentially "-semi-democratic country", "semi" being the operative word.
First, its hard for a country to be partially democratic. Secondly, that comment reflects our dampened down expectations as the war's frustrations have increased during the past few months.
