Now we're getting somewhere Hawk......IMO it is without one iota of a doubt that the main reason the French and Russians were in there was because of the lucrative oil contracts. Do you think they give one toss for the plight of the Iraqi people?? Why is it so hard for US to admit the same?$?$?$

Why are we so supportive of the Saudi Arabian rulers (I won't even give it the honor of being called a govt.) when there's such huge support for Al Qaeda there??? Bin Laden came from one of their priviledged families for Godsakes!!! And last I remembered 15 of the 19 hijakers were from Saudi.
Here's one for you to ponder.....what do you think the reaction would have been if say 15 of the 19 were from Iran, Syria, Iraq or North Korea?!?!? I can guarantee you that Afghanistan wouldn't have been the nation to feel the wrath in the months that followed! If supporting terrorism is one of the reasons we deem suitable for invasion why instead aren't we camped a few hundred miles further south of Baghdad???

ps Remember that we also supported this same brutal regime in the eighties and at it's inception.....lest we forget!
