Add to that the element that successful people often use cheating and lying as useful strategies. Studies have shown that socially sucessful people are better liars. When you think about the games politicians are forced to play, it's no wonder they are all liars ( as most people are in one realm of their lives or another)- the question has to come down to, what do they lie about, and what do you think they will do.
