If we had to go to war anyway it was best done sooner rather then later.

I said we should only go to war as a last resort. As it turned out, we didn't have to have gone had Bush not been so impetuous.

At the time it looked like we would have to go to war because of WMD and it was best to get it over with. In any case the world is well rid of Saddam. If I knew for certain before the war that there where no WMD in Iraq I might not have supported the war, but I don't think the fact that we haven't found them makes the war immoral.

I hope you understand that many people can not be as forgiving as you. Many lives have been lost and billions spent over this lapse of judgement.

My opposition would have been mild and based on potential practical problems. As it turns out many of the potential practical problems didn't happen, so WMD or no WMD I think the overall effect of the war has been positive.

We will just have to agree to disagree.

it was you guys that pumped up Saddam/Iraq for over a decade.

What do you mean by that?

It was the same guys in power now who provided aid to Saddam back in the '80s.
