You keep stating that Kerry needs a platform. The truth is it is politics, when a candidate is leading by the large margin which Kerry it is not in his best interests to get specific on issues. When Rove starts unleashing his dirty tricks campaign Junior may rise enough in the polls to force Kerry into getting specific.

On the Dukakis vs Poppy election, Dukakis had it sewed up until Bushes campaign director found an issue which the public agreed with and made Dukakis look bad if you didn't know the whole story. That issue was Wille Horton. It was an issue which shouldn't have swung more than a percent or 2 of the peoples votes but Bush made it into his winning issue by craming it down the voters throats (with the medias help) for several months.

The following article is the first one which came up when I did a search on Willie Horton. The author seems to think that Rove will try to turn gay marriages into Bushes Willie Horton. There are a lot of stupid voters out there, it is not impossible. Just as with the AWOL, deserter, or the Kerry + intern issue I wouldn't rate any gay issue as being one of the top 15 issues. Rove may try and make it look like the whole future of America hangs on it.

When you think about it what does Junior really have to run on? He has screwed up just about everything he's ever been involved in.
