OT - Doing taxes with GainsKeeper

This weekend I looked at the confirms and decided that it was time to try doing the Schedule D by computer. There is a really neat program that can accept .qif files that most brokers will output for you. It is called GainsKeeper.

In a matter of a couple of hours I was able to output, upload, correct errors (it had problems with short sales) all from multiple brokers, create the "D", link Tax Cut to the site and upload the completed "D" into my return.

I was very reluctant to try this. I did not want to learn another software package. But it was well worth it.
