"Why would you associate hating Jewish people with hating the abomination of sodomy?" Close personal friends of mine, my wife's business partner, many people I have done business with happen to be gay. My son, 12, knows most of them. He admires my wife's partner and considers him a friend. I have no other way of explaining to my son why some people think being gay is a disgrace or a moral abomination other than to compare it to racism. It would be wrong, imo, for my son to hate the people you so fondly despise. It would be wrong for me to teach my son that being Gay is somehow morally incorrect. There is nothing wrong with being gay, just as there is nothing wrong being jewish or black or italian. Only ignorant (often religious) people hate jews, blacks and gays, imo.
