"I think the term is "The Great Commission" and it is what we are charged with, yes? To go and preach the gospel to all who will hear?" -- I remember as a young one and I passed out tracts, often it was to those who hadn't heard about the Lord's love. Today almost everyone you talk to has heard and either believes or has decided to not believe.

But I agree with you -- "I think Brent thinks he is doing that by citing scripture. Although, I agree, simply posting scriptures does nothing for me because of the way he posts them and the message he tries to convey."

"I often wonder why I come to this thread. "No one knows the hour" of the Lord's return, so why do we speculate, try to discern the time when we are told no one knows? Is it to prepare? You better be preparing every day because no one knows the day or the hour." --- I come to enjoy hearing the thoughts of others. As to the Lord's return, I look at it as a child would a GREAT and EXCITING NEW TRIP. And tho we can't know the day and the hour, we are told to watch and expect it!! And DO I EVER !!!

The only thing in your post I don't agree with is -- "as far as when He is coming back, I only hope it is long enough away that I can be assured of my salvation through faith in Him." Sounds to me like you have faith in Him -- you need nothing else. Sooo --- hope his return is soon enough you won't have to brush your teeth tomorrow. Or that you won't have to go to work the next day. Or that you won't have to file your taxes. Or that you won't have to mow the lawn -- or -- or -- or

:-)
