IMO Vietnam is an issue that must remain on the front burner in this presidential race. Understandably, men who go to war and do what they do once they get there are usually very different than who they were before they left. We are all entitled to change our minds.....especially those who risk everything, but he is a perfect example of someone that changed drastically after he returned from Vietnam. By the accounts I've seen and read, profound changes took place in John Kerry between the time he went to Vietnam and the time he came back from Vietnam.

I for one want to know exactly how his experiences in Vietnam changed his outlook. How it affected his views on defense, and exactly what he thinks about the war on terror and whether he believes it is a real, legitimate war.

My next statement is in no way meant to disparage our military......I'm from a long line of military people. Dwight Eisenhower was the finest example of a military man who went on to become President, but in all honesty I want to know if Kerry is stable. So far I've seen a lot of flip flopping on the issues, and I'm getting confused as to where he stands. I'm frankly a bit concerned about whether this guy actually *knows* where he stands. The honesty factor is starting to rear it's ugly head too.

His record in the Senate tells part of the story and the time he spent in Vietnam and how it affected his future behavior is of paramount interest to me.

One of our very dearest and best friends is a Vietnam vet, and no matter how much we love this guy, there is absolutely no way on earth I would vote for him should he run for office.
