President Katsav opens state visit to France

By The Associated Press
haaretz.com

>>Israeli President Moshe Katsav arrived in Paris yesterday for a pomp-filled state visit aimed at reversing deteriorating diplomatic relations sparked by anti-Semitic incidents and criticism of Israel's dealings with the Palestinians. Katsav's visit to France is the first by an Israeli president since 1988.<<

Noticeably, the report from the mainstream media did not mention or intentionally hide one of the most important and obvious facts about why the diplomatic relations between France and Israel is deteriorating.

We all know Israel was the only country who went all out to urge US to fight the Iraq war and France was the country who led the world against it. The Zionists around the world (big or small) and their nation went all over France since then. And the Neocon war party wasted no time and made the "Punish France, Ignore Germany, Forgive Russia" as the post Iraq war foreign policy. France, Germany, and Belgium have set up their own military organization outside NATO. The majority of Europeans belive Israel is the biggest threat to world peace. Russia's recent moves have made Perle and other Israeli citizens screaming. True, Israel's purpose to overthrow Saddam and take over Iraq is succeeded (for now at least), but the costs for it is that it surrounded by many more unfriendly or even hostile nations after the Iraq war.

>>Diplomats say Katsav's visit gives France a chance to show that its close ties with the Arab world do not preclude a larger role for Paris in negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.<<

Israeli president is working hard for France interests and his visit gives France a chance? Hmmm... not very surprised by the mainstream media's way of reporting, are we? But in fact, isn't it more likely that Katsav's visit gives Israel a chance to save the deteriorating and dangerous relationship between Israel and the European countries including France, Germany and Russia since the Iraq war?
