So another war between Pakistan and India will not have disastrous consequences if the US plays its role correctly.

I beg to differ. A war between India and Pakistan as you envision it, even if it does not involve nuclear weapons, would leave hundreds of thousands of people dead and the region enflamed. It is better for the U.S. to continue to work with and support Musharraf. We will eventually capture or kill Bin Laden. As you know better than I, tensions in the area have been receding. Why disrupt that process?

A question for you: Would the capture of Osama Bin Laden be worth a war between India and Pakistan?
