re:First off, do we look like we are suffering? Does it look like we are getting screwed?

I guess you don't work in a call center or write software. According to the latest politcal talking points America is suffering and jobs are being diverted to India and other countries.

Oh, come on, I expect that from someone who's never been outside this country but for anyone who's traveled beyond our borders, he/she knows that we have it very good. Yes, right now, jobs are being lost to India but in 5 years, that will be a blimp on the map.

The only Americans who compare at all to the average person in India are the very poor and the homeless.

re:the reason I asked is because if you see globalization as the way to go, then world gov't can not be far behind and the UN the most likely setting for such a gov't.

Not sure if I'd buy that one - globalization is being driven by open markets and you could even say it was motivated by stock holders driving companies to produce profits by any legal means. Governments are simply regulators and bad ones at that. The Euro Union is far from a single government but an economic creation to resolve trade issues and I doubt any of them are interested in one government (yet) - the idea we have some Star Trek like futuristic world government is centuries not decades in the future in my opinion.

The EU is just the first step to forming the US of Europe.

I think your world government idea is about as logical as a single religion notion - it won't happen.

Its as illogical as Columbus saying 600 years ago that one could encircle the globe by ship. The question is not if world gov't is coming but when.

re: We control the UN

No we don't, we have significant influence but we sure don't control it.

No question we are losing control but we still have a veto on the Sec. Council......and the UN meets and operates in NYC.
