I worry a lot more about suicidal religious zealots bent on an afterlife than I do about materialistic Americans and superstition-denying Soviets who want to rule the roost, but do it in the here and now.

A suicide bomber who thinks it's a good thing if the USA nukes Moslems who will go immediately to Nirvana with fleets of virgins [which begs the question of where the female Moslems go and what they get] is a very scary creature if armed with a nuke or three.

Pakistan seems to have played the USA for a fool. They supported and established the Taleban. They developed their A-bomb and sold it off to their political mates. They have hidden Osama for 2 years.

Saddam was on the USA side compared with Pakistan. Pakistan doesn't have oil. Saddam did. But Saddam got done in and now Pakistan's Islamic Jihad mates are situated to take over Iraq complements of the USA and COW. MAD COW disease writ large?

Anyway, the great and brilliant Khan wasn't the father of the Islamic A-Bomb, he just was in charge of stealing/buying the technology and supervising assembly and selling of either the know-how or supporting technology and maybe even a ready-to-rumble fully primed nuke. How did Korea get one so quickly eh? From Pakistan, that's how. Or from China, who perhaps hold a key to it - a wireless enabling code to be delivered if required.

The end of history? I don't think we are there yet. Or, maybe we are at the beginning of it!
