Of course, since Soros has bragged about using "misdirection" one can never know what his positions actually are at any one time. And public statements or even gossip he originates may be misdirection to disguise his actual positions.

if he's super rich and wants to avoid taxes then he should WANT Shrub to stay in office. The super rich are paying less in taxes than they were 10 years ago while the middle class is paying more.

He handles investments for himself and very wealthy persons. (Supposedly he handles Queen Elizabeth's investment portfolio or at least a part of it.) US tax sheltered investments BTW. And high taxes on US income motivates the very wealthy to seek out funds like Soros to help them reduce their tax burden. So high taxes might well be good for Soros by bringing him more big-money offshore clients.
