Some other points about Islam:

Islam is very close to the origin of Judaism and Christianity. The Angel Gabriel that visited Muhammad is the same Angel Gabriel that is in the Old and New Testaments. Abraham had a son by his Arab mistress and the Muslims believe he built the cube that exists in the center of Mecca where the Muslims come several times a year to complete their Hajj or pilgrimage as encouraged by Islam. When Muhammad was in Medina, he had his people face Jerusalem and pray to Allah. It was only later that Muslims were encouraged to pray facing Mecca. The Koran talks about Jesus but they see him as another prophet and not as the son of God.

My point is that all three religions share similar roots. Judaism came first, then Christianity and then Islam. They all believe in the one God. FWIW.
