Fri Feb 13, 2004 DRILLING CONTINUES AT BELLE FOURCHE NATURAL GAS PROSPECT -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Athlone Minerals Ltd. reports that it has now drilled and cased an additional two wells (seven wells total) in its exploratory prospect in southern Saskatchewan. The operator has been hampered by severe winter weather in its attempts to evaluate the wells by completions; however, interpretation of drill logs to date has shown sufficient merit to continue drilling. A drill is currently on site and Athlone and its partners plan to drill two additional wells as soon as weather permits. Once completed, flow testing of these wells will begin as soon as crews are available. The drilling of the above mentioned wells will earn the oil and gas rights to additional 20 sections (12,800 acres) of land. Athlone's working interest in the project is 50%. Athlone also announces that Mr. Robert Connochie has resigned from the board of directors in order to pursue other interests.
