Just remember that if the US feels strongly enough about something to rewrite the application of the Geneva accords unilaterally, others will certainly follow our example in the future against our own forces or allies.

Then the screaming and howling will be intense no doubt. That's the problem with unilateralism; it's a doctrine of constant exceptions backed by up by force which offers no predictability or real security. Everyone plays by their own rules as they see fit.

But it sure sounds good. Until it goes wrong.
