Agreed - but I wish more was known about how they worked. My guess is that their direct effect on LDL cholesterol is mostly a red herring and they are acting as anti-inflammatories in some as-yet unknown way. It may turn out eventually that their level of effect on LDL is not even a good proxy for their overall beneficial effect - not something that PFE would want to hear.

And I also have a hunch that ARBs will turn out to be similarly beneficial.
