Well, few laws are crystal clear, so it really is your belief in what the law says that matters.

But just wanted to check. So if a bunch of neo-Nazis in Idaho declare themselves an independent nation and form a non-uiniformed gurerilla force and blow up a few US federal buildings before being caught, then they would be POWs and could not be prosecuted but would have to be released at the end of hostilities.

I'm sure that's just what the US would do.
