Jake, the situation is very different this time. This is the age of the Internet. There are more people at the keyboards now that at any other time in history. These folks know the power they have.

Currently the three leaders Bush, Blair and Howard (Australian PM) are in trouble with their respective folks. The charges in these countries have a consistent pattern. And that is the intelligence was cooked. There was a collusion by the socio-military complex to embark on this Iraqi adventure and corner the oil. So Bush can go on the attack as much as he wants through the TV ads and Rupert Murdoch. But the Internet is something that he cannot control. And that is what is going to be different this time.

That is what you already see with Bush releasing attack ads on the Internet. So once we accept the power of the Internet we can easily see that Internet cannot be controlled by any one group as they can do with TV in a particular region. Thanks also to SI, a Internet chat room.
