portage, Kerry has too much negative baggage between his poor senate voting record & controversial vietnam congressional testimony. Conversely, Edwards has a great anti-NAFTA voting record plus he has been a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee & is briefed weekly about global hot spots. Most importantly Edwards has the type of personal characteristics that will resonate with the majority of American voters. Kerry on the other hand is being pushed by his insider WashDC lobbyist friends who don't want the type of change John Edwards represents. Edwards financed his own Senate race & therefore is not beholding to anyone. That scares Democrat lobbyists who would rather have Kerry in WH since he has been in the past a recipient of large donations from those lobbyist groups. That fact makes him beholding to groups opposed to government actions that would be in best interest of average Americans.
