Agreed, and Kerry is doing it again by trying to lie about his unwavering support for "free trade" destruction of American labor.

Well, on this issue I would like to point out that I have seen COUNTLESS right leaning pundits point out that NAFTA was "Clinton's main legacy" in recent weeks.

If you went out and asked people what was Clinton's main legacy, I doubt very seriously that ANYBODY would say Nafta. The Clinton economy, rejuvenation of our manufacturing base (mainly tech manufacturing like Sun microsystems and Cisco, but its still mfg)- a budget surplus that nobody thought possible, rampant optimism.

Clinton like many politicians supported Nafta based on information we had at the time. Now after witnessing the devastating poverty and crime that has emerged in these border towns and job loss here with no meaningful standard of living raise in Mexico, its time for a re-evaluation. There is nothing wrong with re-evaluating a position when new facts present themselves. Bush can't re-evaluate anything because he pisses so many people off in the initial negotiation phases of *everything he does*, so any repositioning on the part of BUSH POLICY is out of the question. But this is not a good thing.

Trying to pin Nafta and free trade on the democrats WON'T WORK.
