Howard D Brous reiterates buy on Iomega Corp

DENVER, July 30 (Reuter) - Howard D Brous securities analyst Howard Rosencrans said on Tuesday he reiterated his "strong buy" recommendation on Iomega Corp, citing the company's contracts with vendors for its Zip drive as a key factor in future growth.

"We continue to believe that the story at Iomega is very much intact and that dire predictions about the company's prospects are premature," he wrote.

Rosencrans has been bullish on the stock for some time and has predicted earlier rallies.

Iomega shares were up 1/2 at 9-3/4, down from a year-high at 13-7/8. Trading in the stock has been very volatile and in his report Rosencrans said the stock is suitable for highly speculative investors exclusively.

Rosencrans said Iomega's relationships with original equipment manufacturers, or OEMs, "will increasingly become the key factor in Iomega's growth and an integral factor in establishing Zip as the leading candidate to be annointed when a 'mega floppy' is adopted as the new 'standard.'"
