just curious, why do you think someone would buy a mostly local and long distance provider when the trend will continue to be towards cell phones, which include free long distance, and people not even having home phones, instead using their cell phones for everything?

Q has a negative book value so it doesn't seem to be an asset play, and they sold off their most lucrative business, the yellow pages publishing division

they do have lines into millions of homes, do you see that as attractive enough to warrant a buyout? just wondering, as i have looked at Q many times since they are the local provider, but never thought much of what i saw...as our phone service provider they have improved their service and support greatly in the past year or two, but as an investment the company looks pretty bleak to me
