Zonkie, polls so early on is not a good indicator of what voters will be thinking in November. Dukakis was up 17% in 1998. Whereas Bush Sr. was at 80% job approval rating a year before the polls.

However, I agree that a string of events in the past 6 weeks has been very negative for Bush. whether he will be in a position to recover you ask. Well we have to wait and see. Iraq as well as the jobs market will shape the course of events in Nov.

Bush supporters keep saying that the economy is on its way up. But people who are out of work wonder if that claim is true.
