Ted Re...I think we should have started seriously ten years ago.....or 20 years ago. It feels like we play at being energy efficient.
Thats because nobody likes the answers, and nobody wants to live up to reality. To me the only serious answer, right now is nuclear. All of the others only help in piecemeal increments. Should they be done? Of course. But the only real long term solution, which can provide the power cleanly, at competitive costs is nuclear, right now. However, there are a lot of people who want to bring up scare tactics of the past, to discredit the only current viable energy resource of the future. Its time to get it on.
People have too many fears when it comes to nuclear; plus, its becoming a real problem disposing of the radioactive waste. Add in the fear of terrorism and I think nuclear is a no show.
There are other alternatives. We need to pick two and focus our resources on them.
You're in denial.....Americans are not invincible. We can lose just like everyone else; particularly when we jump into things without the proper forethought.
And you think just laying back, and resigning oneself to his fate, is a better option than fighting back. Most people who think like defeatists, are defeated. Does that mean we can't be defeated? No But, if I must go down, I intend to go down fighting. You can cower down in the basement if you wish. Better yet, quit wasting my time and your time, and commit suicide, and get it over with right away. That way you won't suffer too much, and you can spare me the defeatist drivel.
I am not talking defeatist; I am being realistic. Odds favor us when we fight another nation. They do not favor us when we fight insurgents. Before the war, insurgency fighting was the greatest worry of our military leaders. |
