And I think that, with our previous intervention, we have a responsibility. If anyone can justify seeding a democracy half way around the world with 100,000+ troops, certainly we can defend a democracy 650 miles away with ~10,000 troops.

I don't disagree with this approach although I think we may have to keep it down to 5k troops [I don't think we have 10k to put into Haiti] done under the auspicious of the UN for a definite time frame. Whenever we take the lead, we end up putting in a base and staying forever.

But I see your point. And it's well taken. It's a gray area, and I just happen to fall on one side, you on the other.

I just don't believe you can orchestrate or control a situation where you have a lot of humans involved. I think each group of humans has its own manifest destiny and that that needs to be respected and left alone. Unfortunately, I think humans often have to learn the hard way.

Still no opinions from the Neo's on the thread? Are they waiting for their fearless leader to tell them what to think?

Well, then, they could be waiting a long time. Then again, they may be hoping we will argue, then splinter and fragment.

Nah! Our hate of Bush is too strong! <g>
