I do not think most people are arguing that gays should be forced back into the closet. As far as I know, Europe is grappling with the question as we are. France has only gone as far as "civil union", and not all countries have gone that far. But it is not reactionary to hesitate, at least, and demand a thorough discussion, throughout society, while contemplating a change of such magnitude. Nor is this comparable to a scientific dispute.......
