"If god is behind all this, it seems pretty praiseworthy to me"

IF God IS behind ALL this, then I think praise fails to adequately appraise the matter. Of course one could suspend all critical judgment and allow God carte blanche. But what if one held God to the same standards we hold one another? You know...do your best to help others and to prevent suffering, disease, and meaningless destruction? Do your best to prevent harm and to avoid injury to others, etc.

You know, many have looked at that question. And it has sometimes been suggested that God must lack either concern or competence. Of course, if we intend that our judgment should not inform our belief, then I will admit that such opinions are an exercise in waste.

But for discussions sake: IF God is NOT behind ALL this...does it still seem equally praiseworthy? Anything you could criticize, IF God were NOT behind all this?

"It's not always pretty! LOL"

I think I can appreciate that. :-)
