Tom, that would be my doing.. Between August, impristine, David(s), Jane456 and a few others industrious souls and GNET developers, I figure there's about 10,000 more to be fixed. :- /

I'm getting rid of all leading HTML and punctuation marks so the threads will sort alphabetically in the new user interface. It will be able to see and search all thread titles, not just recently active ones. I've also moved several hundred threads into a more appropriate category.

>>I really don't care to see a power struggle about list position -- I like them to be stable so I can speed-read.

The situation exists because some thread originators have endeavored to get their threads to float to the top. That's exactly what I'm eliminating.

I've been fixing about 50 threads per day. The offenders are rather difficult to locate in the old heritage interface. Anyone who has "non-normal" subjects in their SubjectMarks - please feel free to PM me the URL and I'll fix it immediately. Providing me the URL will move it to the top of the list... so to speak.

By the way, some versions of the new interface will have many user-determined settings, including the option to sort favorites by name, ticker, new posts, or last activity date. Non-stock threads will probably each receive a "ticker" shortcut assigned to them as well.

Of course, that means all the tickers need to be fixed too...
